Friends, family, extended networks, people who are trying to get more knowledgeable of crypto? Coworkers and seasoned crypto degens this might be too high level/ obvious for you — still figuring this out.

Crypto Highlights

1. BTC, ETH, everything shitting the bed. Seeing a very common sentiment that this may be the beginning of a long and hard bear cycle.

2. UST and other stables hitting dangerous levels and exposing the truth of the matter that stables are not as safe as they advertise. An explanation of how a “stable” coin like UST is not stable: here. A breakdown of stablecoins themselves: here. Binance (a centralized crypto exchange) doing binance things below (not good, dont use this):

   Binance suspends UST withdrawals, can't have you selling UST on other exchanges.

   

3. Still bullish on the multichain future. Holding bags, still buying ATOM and ETH every week but just a liiitle.

4. NFT markets drop what, 92% ?! Great time to see who survive these dark days who doesn’t (same with crypto). Blue Chips like BAYC, Doodles, Azuki (edit: lol maybe not anymore), and Moonbirds holding strong, probably the only safe plays right now. Still liking some of my first picks of Adam Bomb Squad (The Hundreds), Coolman, and Boss Beauties.

5. The current crypto recession needs to be a lesson for many on the brutal reality of a new technology like crypto. New technologies that garner hundreds of billions of dollars in record timing can rise and fall just as fast. Not only is this screwing over a lot more retail consumers than rich people, but in the future, a drop in “stable” assets could harm a lot of the developing countries that crypto has been promising to benefit. We need to do better if this is going to have the positive impact that all of the die-hards are advertising.

1. Watched “You Were Never Really Here”…. wow…. if you want a fucked up-steroids version of Taken with Joaquin Phoenix instead of Liam Neeson, watch that. Safdie Brothers-like with some disturbing scenes/ content of mental health and various real world evils.

2. Barry is back and I need to watch it. Still very behind on Top Boy. Expanse is next on my list.

3. I have heard Questlove, Quincy Jones, and the Beatles documentaries were all amazing and are on my list as well.

Books I am reading slowly

1. All About Love - Bell Hooks —> blowing my mind on all things Love

2. Name of the Wind —> recommended to me as one of the best Game of Thrones style books ever
